The problem of purification of industrial wastewater from dissolved in water organic substances, in particular phenols, is one of the most important and at the same time difficult to be solved. Despite the large number of domestic and foreign developments, this problem can not be considered solved. Considering the topicality of the problem, this work is dedicated to the experimental study of the absorption capacity of some sorbents with respect to phenol and its derivatives. The aim of this study is to identify regularities of sorption of phenols on sorbents of different nature, for further development of the most effective ways of purification of wastewater from the above organic toxicants.
