Natural reactor of renewable energy:

мIn this article the process of biogas generation from gas-saturated silt in the shallow bays of the Sea of Azov is considered. It is shown that the natural conditions (shallow water, good heating of the water, low salinity, and, as a consequence, the rapid reproduction of phytoplankton) favor its formation. By filtering through the water column generated gas is cleaned from harmful impurities (hydrogen sulfide and other gases). It is a renewable source of energy. The authors propose a conception of geliobioelektrostation in which the input received sunlight enhances biological productivity of phytoplankton, phytoplankton waste products recycled by microorganisms into methane, which is then burned to produce electricity. With sufficient investment, project of extraction of natural biogas in the Sea of Azov can be profitable. Gas extraction in this region is due to developed infrastructure of the gas consumption (network of gas stations and domestic consumption) in order to make a profit without additional transport costs.
