The present-day technologies in domestic and medical waste management are surveyed. Features of the hierarchy system are described. More efficient techniques that meet the up-to-date recycling demands are studied and systematized. Areas of application of techniques and approaches to domestic and medical waste recycling are determined. Heat treatment methods for domestic waste that are more perspective with a view to reduction in environmental pollution are identified on the basis of a comparative analysis of the considered techniques. Medical facilities are classified according to amount and hazard of expired medicines which are subject to recycling. The expediency of technology improvement at waste processors is demonstrated by several techniques. The results of the study are expected to allow of more efficient and saving waste disposal which in its turn may ensure safety to those who both directly work with wastes and are affected to environment recycling.
