Article is devoted to consideration of features of selection, transportation, storage and preservation of tests of natural water. In it, in particular, are given definitions of the concepts «sample» and «sampling»; are considered types of samples (point, composite, etc.), a main objective of sampling (research of structure and H2O properties for identification of sources of its pollution) and its methods: single, periodic, continuous and serial. The questions connected with a choice of a site of points for carrying out water analysis from the rivers, streams, lakes, reservoirs and ponds (natural or artificial), and also capacities for sampling of natural water are rather in detail considered: various type of bathometers (Patalas, Rutner, Molchanov, horizontal, etc.), large bottles, glasses with divisions, plastic cylinders or cylinders from stainless steel, time dependent and volume dependent automatic samplers. In conclusion, the review presents the main recommended methods of handling, storage and preservation of samples to determine the generalized, chemical and organoleptic characteristics.
Keywords: The natural water; sample (point, composite); sampling (one-time, periodic, continuous, serial); bathometer; bottle; auto sampler.
