Urban recreational units are an essential resource of daily and weekly cycles recreation. Acoustic situation is an important component of environmental and hygienic characteristics of the recreational property along with the level of chemical contamination of environment components. As part of the environmental certification of urban recreational facilities Samara the acoustic situation was assessed at six sites – Park «Voronezhskiye Ozera» and the four unorganized recreation units in residential districts. Sound level measurements were carried out in the most visited spots – the ponds. It is shown that the noise level exceeds the allowable in half of the cases examined. Sources of noise are closely spaced highways (Stara Zagora street, Kirov Prospekt, Moscow highway). Measures to optimize the acoustic situation are proposed, in particular through the creation of a three-tiered phytoprotection belt along highways.
