Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Some aspects of environmental radiation assessment Gablin V.A. Correctness of measurings and existence of estimation criterion are shown to be conditions of precise and reliable radiation assessment. It is established that both of the conditions are fulfilled by proper organization of the analytical cycle concerning sample preparation. Quantitative determination of solid components in grounds, soils and bottom sediments is proved: a) to provide representative and homogeneous sample to be measured as a condition of precise and reliable result and b) to calculate limit meaning or radiation background which is actually a criterion of radiation assessment. Such a calculation is carried out for the soils of Moscow as an example of urbanized territory. Advantages of the approach proposed in comparison with those used at present.
