Shows the development process of the qualitative theory of interaction of acoustic waves with porous sound frequency notch filter of fibrous materials. Established and justified the presence of a functional relationship between the damping of the acoustic signal transmitted through the porous plug and the parameters of its constituent particles. Having identified dependencies determines the possibility of applying the method to create an acoustic measurement devices to monitor characteristics such as porosity of filter plugs of fibrous and porous materials, and size distribution of bulk materials. Control of these characteristics it is necessary to carry out the selection of materials for the filter media of water - and air-as well as to control particle size distribution of the charge in the manufacture of filters using powder metallurgy (cermet).
