Presents problems of formation of a domestic reverse osmosis. Noteworthy methodology and methods that were involved in domestic research. The authors come to the conclusion that despite the existing problems, was understanding of the need for the development of nanotechnological processes, which allowed us to conduct a series of experiments using cellulose acetate membranes in the laboratory of RCTU D.I. Mendeleev. The authors examine contemporary problems of purification of aqueous solutions by reverse osmosis. The authors note a special influence on the process of reverse osmosis quantitative values of the pore size, the phenomenon of temperature effect, removing the harmful effect of the concentration polarization of different types of polymeric membranes, and emphasize that at the present time for aqueous solutions of various salts and small concentrations of organic impurities, use one of the methods, membrane separation, reverse osmosis, active development of which began in the 70-s of XX century.
