Simulation of diffusion of heavy metal ions |

Studied the lateral and vertical diffusion at 298 K of cadmium ions (II), copper (II), cesium, mercury (II), iron (III) and lead (II) with the use of several mathematical models. Simulation of diffusion based on the determination of the sampling time, distance, and the concentration gradient in the direction of one axis, the approximation of mathematical models for calculating the coefficients of lateral and vertical diffusion of these ions using different methods. Methods based on analysis of the experimental data on the diffusion which can be prepared in different ways using the respective solutions of the diffusion equation. Analysis of availability by the aforementioned mathematical models to describe the diffusion of these ions allows you to note that the stationary stream method is applicable to simulate the lateral (Hg2 +, Fe3+, Pb2+, Cd2+, Cu2+ and Cs+) and vertical (Pb2+, Cd2+, Cu2+ and Cs+) ion diffusion. Method of dead time - to simulate the lateral (Hg2+, Fe3+, Cd2+, Cu2+) and vertical (Pb2+) ion diffusion. The method nonstationary stream has more limited uses (lateral diffusion of ions Pb2+ and Cu2+), due to take place in parallel sorption processes. The results can be used to predict the migration of heavy metal ions in the environment and to prevent contamination.
