COMPARATIVE STUDYING
OF INFLUENCE OF EMISSIONS
OF THE MOTOR TRANSPORT
ON THE CONDITION OF THE WOOD STORY AT THE ROADSIDE FOREST
FITOTSENOSES IN VARIOUS REGIONS OF THE EUROPEAN PART OF RUSSIA |
Volkova O.D., Gorbunov Yu.N.
Influence of emissions of motor transport on various forest forming species depending on distance from the highway is studied. From all studied tree species the most stable against pollution there was an speckled alder (Alnus incana (L.) Moench). The birch (Betula pendula Roth.) more resistant to air pollutionthan pine (Pinus sylvestris L.). The most exposed to the harmful influence of phyto-toxic emissions where a broadleaf trees – the small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata Mill) and oak (Quercus robur L.). When increasing the intensity of transport noticeable harmful effect of emissions on forest species observed at a greater distance from the road. When the intensity of 5 000 vehicles per day at pine was observed minor damage only in the band of 20 m from the road, while at the intensity of 11 000 vehicles per day completely healthy trees not found even at a distance of 200 m from the highway.
Keywords: influence of emissions of motor transport; forest ecosystem; wood story; sensitivity to pollution.
