Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back RETROSPECTIVE SHOW OF RESEARCHES ON METHODS FOR DETERMINATION OF ZINC CONCENTRATION IN HUMAN BLOOD PART 1: RESEARCHES BEFORE 1980TH YEARS V.A. Buzanovsky, T.G. Samkharadze Researches of human blood in clinical diagnostic laboratories are carried out for numerous parameters. One of such parameters is zinc concentration. In the review chronological development of techniques for determination of zinc concentration in blood plasma and serum based on various analytical methods (spectrophotometry, atomic absorption spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, voltammetry, X-ray fl uorescence spectrometry, titrimetry, spectrofl uorometry, neutron activation analysis, radioactivity measurement of zinc isotopes) is submitted. Brief data on the listed techniques and results of comparative tests are resulted. It is marked, that now atomic absorption spectroscopic, spectrophotometric, inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopic and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometric techniques have received a wide spread as in small and middle laboratories so in large clinical diagnostic centers. Voltammetric techniques seldom are used at clinical diagnostic researches. X-ray fl uorescence spectrometric, titrimetric and spectrofl uorometric techniques actually are not applied, but techniques of neutron activation analysis and techniques of radioactivity measurement of zinc isotopes are mainly used in the scientifi c research organizations. The review consists of two parts. Researches before 1980th years are considered in the fi rst part and researches in 1980–2000th years are considered in the second part.
