Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back RETROSPECTIVE SHOW OF RESEARCHES ON METHODS FOR DETERMINATION OF UREA CONCENTRATION IN HUMAN BLOOD. PART 3: RESEARCHES IN 1980–2000TH YEARS Buzanovsky V.A., Samkharadze T.G. The researches of human blood in clinical diagnostic laboratories are carried out for numerous parameters. One of such parameters is urea concentration. In the review chronological development (since the middle of 1950th years) of techniques for determination of urea concentration in plasma, serum and whole blood based on various analytical methods (spectrophotometry, spectrofl uorometry, chemiluminescence, turbidimetry, volummetry, conductometry, potentiometry, calorimetry, titrimetry, chromatography/mass spectrometry) is presented. Brief data on the listed techniques and results of comparative tests are submitted. It is marked, that now nonenzymatic and enzymatic spectrophotometric techniques also conductometric and potentiometric techniques have received a wide spread for determination of urea concentration in plasma, serum and whole blood in small, middle and large clinical diagnostic laboratories. Chromatography/mass spectrometric techniques are used for the certifi cation of exemplary solutions of serum urea. Spectrofl uorometric, chemiluminescent and calorimetric techniques are mainly applied at scientifi c biomedical researches. Turbidimetric, volummetric and titrimetric techniques are not practically used in modern clinical diagnostic practice. The review consists of three parts. In the fi rst part researches in 1950 and 1960th years are considered, in the second part researches in 1970th years are considered, in the third part researches in 1980, 1990 and 2000th years are considered.
