THE IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION OF THE DETECTOR UNIT ON THE METER DOSE OF GAMMA RADIATION |

We consider the use of dosimetry equipment in the liquidation of the consequences of a large-scale radiation accident. To prove the necessity ofpurity control of the dosimetry equipment, through which the detection of the radiation situation is realized. Even a small amount of aerosol particleson the body of the dose rate meterdetection unit may lead to readings indicating the need for evacuation. For accurate estimates we suggested thedetector unit with gas-discharge counters model. The mathematical apparatus for the evaluation of dose meter readings of gamma radiation in the radioactive contamination of the detector unit was offered. The calculations results in condition that the gamma-ray energy is rather high and trip counter is mainly due to electron impact are shown. The device type DP-5V contamination of the fallout leads to the overestimation of the registration in comparison with the actual radiation levels up to 1.5 times ifwe take measurements in the area where the loss occurred.
