Kuzmenko, S.V. Nekhoroshev, M.G. Kulkov This article is devoted to the history of the study of bottom sediments of lakes Russia over the past 15 years. The studying of sediment attracts many scientists and allows us to understand the history of the development of the reservoir, its ecological environment and the infl uence of anthropogenic factors. The table degree of studying of the bottom lake sediments has been made on the basis of the analysis of scientific literature. The extensive researches of bottom sediments of lakes in different parts of the country are carried out by scientists, including West Siberia, as the oil-rich and at the same time, deteriorating environmental conditions for 15 years. The most of the researches are connected with studying of impurity of sediments in oil, oil products and heavy metals, adversely affecting lake ecosystems. Works of employees Ugra State University, the researching petropolluted bottom sediments of lakes of the Samotlor oil fi eld belong to their number.
