MULTIFUNCTIONAL VEHICLE FOR COASTAL ZONES
V.V. Belyakov, P.O. Beresnev, V.I. Filatov, Yu.V. Shapkina

Approximately 38 % of the world population lives in the narrow coastal strip along seas and oceans. And most of the coastal population is located on the 40 % of the coastal zone. The frequency of natural disasters caused by global climate change on Earth, is constantly growing. The use of amphibious vehicles, non-destructive integrity of biogeocenosis of coastal areas, is the only effective means for rescue operations and transport support of coastal areas. The use of hermetic body and low pressure tires allows to cross water obstacles. Market of modern vehicles has pretty developed segment of off-road vehicles, including multiaxial vehicles. However, vehicle's mobility on diffi cult terrain with sharp traffi c conditions change can be ensured only by a timely change of the basic modes of individual units and systems of the vehicle. The application of hydrostatic transmissions combining individually regulated actuator of each wheel and automatic control system reduces rolling resistance and increases traction force. This in turn increases vehicle’s traffi cability and average speed of movement in terrain conditions, reduces energy losses, provides environmental safety. Structural composition of vehicle's driveline represents a set of sensors that determine interaction characteristics of wheel-soil system under each wheel, an automatic system for controlling the distribution of torque for the wheels and stepless power actuator. The results of the work contribute to the creation of a new type of multifunctional vehicles for coastlines.
Keywords: amphibious transport; hydrostatic transmission; energy effi ciency and environmental friendliness of mover.
