Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Application of selective inorganic sorbents to increase ecological safety of nuclear power plants Sharygin L.M., Muromsky A.Yu., Kalyagina M.L., Borovkov S.I. The main physico-mechanical properties of inorganic sorbents of the Termoxid-35 and Termoxid-3A and investigations of sorption and selectivity properties of these materials to cesium radionuclides are presented in this paper. The investigation results show a high selectivity of the «Termoxid» – brand sorbents to cesium radionuclides that permits to use them for an ion–selective decontamination of liquid radioactive waste. The results of comparative tests on some similar national and international sorbents are provided along with the examples of application of Termoxid -35 and Termoxid-3A at nuclear power plants in Russia.
