THE IMPACT OF MINING TECHNOGENESIS ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH OF THE POPULATION OF A MINING VILLAGE IN THE AMUR REGION
N.K. Rastanina, L.T. Krupskaya, D.A. Golubev

The article presents the results of many years of research on the state of the environment and public health within the boundaries of the influence of the closed mining enterprise «Solnechny GOK» in the territory of the Solnechny district of the Khabarovsk Territory. Intensive development of mineral deposits in the Amur region has led to a critical level of environmental pollution: water sources, atmospheric air, soil, and biota. Of particular danger are dust and gas emissions from the surface of tailings-stored toxic waste from the processing of mineral tin ore. In this regard, the aim of the study was to assess the effect of heavy metal compounds (Pb, Cr, Co) of arsenic and antimony within the influence of the closed mining enterprise «Solnechny GOK» on the environment and public health of the mining village of Solnechny to ensure environmental and social safety. In the article, the authors discuss the environmentally dependent dependence of the morbidity of the population of the mining village on the level of environmental pollution by compounds of heavy metals (Pb, Cr, Co), arsenic and antimony in the study area and proposals to reduce the impact of harmful environmental factors. Based on the data on the morbidity of the population in the study area, as well as the analysis of the dusty period of the settlement, the value of population carcinogenic risks for arsenic, lead, chromium, cobalt from the tailing dump of the Central Processing Plant «Solnechny GOK» was calculated. Experimental studies have allowed us to develop methods to reduce the negative impact of mineral waste on the ecosphere and human health, the novelty of which is confirmed by the Patents of the Russian Federation.
Keywords: closed mining enterprise; mining waste; industrial pollution; heavy metal compounds; public health; diseases of the cardiovascular system; carcinogenic risk.
