A.I. Zaytsev, P.I. Pronin, A.R. Giniatullin, L.S. Shabramova, M.Yu. Shibaeva
On September 28, 2018, a strong earthquake and tsunami occurred on the island of Sulawesi (Indonesia), which turned out to be the most destructive this year (more than 2,000 people died). The magnitude of the earthquake was 7,5. The work provides data from satellite images of the island of Sulawesi before and after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami. These images made it possible to better plan a field survey of tsunami traces, in which the authors of the article took part. The importance of satellite images lies in their panoramic nature, which al-lows you to see the characteristic changes in the landscape and understand their impact on the ecology of the coastal zone. As a result of this event, the coastal zone of the island and its ecological state have changed.
