ABOUT OPTICAL SPECTRAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR DIAGNOSTICS OF WATER ENVIRONMENTS OF SIBERIA (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE ANGARA / YENISEI RIVER SYSTEM)
V.F. Krapivin, F.A. Mkrtchyan

This paper presents the results of spectral-optical measurements of hydrochemical characteristics in the Angara/Yenisei River system(AYRS) from Lake Baikal to the mouth of the Yenisei River. On-site measurements and sampling were performed in the summer of 2019 using three spectral optical instruments and related software, including big data processing algorithms and a AYRS simulation model. Measurements and sampling were carried out at 13 sites along the Angara River and at one site on the Yenisei below the Angara junction (the village of Strelka). On-site measurements are carried out using a universal 8-channel spectrophotometer from a boat. Water samples are analyzed both in real time and in the laboratory using a 35-channel spectrophotometer and a 128-channel spectroellipsometer, which ensures prompt control of the accuracy of the result. The AYRS simulation model was used to reconstruct the distribution of hydrochemical characteristics along the Yenisei River at a distance from the Angara junction to the Kara Sea. The results obtained show that the water quality in the AYRS has slightly improved due to a reasonable reduction in the anthropogenic industrial impact. The concentration of chemicals in the water along the Angara River has been found to vary, increasing and decreasing before and after the dams, respectively. Overcoming this effect and some uncertainty associated with it can be overcome by the combined use of an adequate AYRS model and a universal 8-channel spectrophotometer located on a stationary platform.
