TSUNAMI HAZARD ASSESSMENT IN THE AKKUYU NPP CONSTRUCTION AREA |

Calculations of prognostic heights of tsunami waves with a given probability in the Eastern Mediterranean in the Akkuyu NPP construction area, constructed by Russian specialists, were performed. Using the PTHA (Probabilistic Tsunami Hazard Assessment) method, it was obtained that the estimated maximum heights of tsunami waves for a period of 10 thousand years do not exceed 5.4 m, and taking into account the possible dispersion of the initial data – 7.4 m, and the expected wave height at the Akkuyu NPP construction site is more than at neighboring points. These data can serve as preliminary estimates for the tsunami hazard in the Akkuyu NPP area.
