Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back THEORETICAL MODEL OF ICE DESTRUCTION RESISTANCE WHEN AN ICEBREAKER MOVES IN A SOLID ICE E.M. Gramuzov, N.V. Kalinina, A.A. Kurkin The main causes of ice resistance, energy costs to overcome it are considered. Net ice resistance is presented in the form of separate components for the convenience of theoretical and experimental studies. A phenomenological model of the interaction of the ice with the icebreaker's hull when moving in solid ice is given, a theoretical model of the resistance to ice destruction is described. The principles of constructing semi-empirical models of ice fracture resistance are shown. The coefficients of the semi-empirical model were obtained on the basis of experimental data. The calculation model can be refined with the accumulation of experimental data.
