FEATURES OF THE FORMATION OF DEBRIS FLOW–PRONE AREAS IN THE TRANSITION ZONES "MAINLAND - OCEAN" ON THE EXAMPLE OF O. SAKHALIN |

In this paper, the position of Sakhalin Island in the modern transition zone between the Asian mainland and the Pacific Ocean, including volcanic belts, marginal seas and island arcs, is considered. It is thanks to the history of the development of the Sakhalin island uplift, as part of the transition zone from the mainland to the ocean, exogenous geodynamic processes, including debris flows, are actively manifested. The spatial and temporal conditions of seleforming are determined, which are determined not only by the geographical location of the territory, but also by its geospatial position on the Earth’s surface, taking into account modern and past endogenous and exogenous processes affecting the specified territory.
