Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back THE SOFTWARE MODULE FOR ASSESSING COASTAL EROSION FROM SATELLITE IMAGES L.S. Shabramova This study presents the work of a software module for analyzing a large volume of satellite images. The module analyzes areas of the coastal zone for temporary changes. A study of data from the Sakhalin region showed sections of the road most susceptible to erosion. They are located along the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, between the villages of Vzmorye and Firsovo, Dolinsky district of the region. This is the main federal highway of Sakhalin and on this section of the road the coast periodically erodes the most. The results of the analysis are extremely important for planning engineering protection. Keywords: satellite data processing, erosion of coastal infrastructure, software module, erosion process.
