The Infl uence of the Weather Conditions of the Vegetative Season on the Nutritional and Vitamin Value of the Fruits of Vaccinium Corymbosum L. in the Conditions of Belarus

The results of a comparative study in 2021–2023 are presented in the southern agro-climatic zone of Belarus, against
the background of contrasting weather conditions of the growing season, there are 14 biochemical characteristics of
fruits (the content of dry, pectin and tannins, free organic, ascorbic and hydroxycoric acids, soluble sugars, anthocyanin
pigments, fl avonols, catechins and the indicator of the sugar acid index) in 6 newly introduced varieties of tall blueberries
of different maturation periods -early ripening – Chanticleer, Hannah's Choice, Mid-ripened – Bluegold, Harrison and
late-ripened – Aurora, Rubel., The corresponding zoned varieties – Weymouth, Bluecrop and Elliott were used as benchmarks
for comparison.
The inter-seasonal differences in the degree of deviations of the tested blueberry taxa from standard varieties in terms of
the content of organic compounds of different chemical nature in fruits are shown. An assessment of the dependence of
the integral level of nutritional and vitamin value of berry products, estimated by the totality of the designated biochemical
characteristics, on the hydrothermal regime of the season is given. Based on the averaged results of three-year studies,
it was found that both tested early-ripening blueberry varieties were characterized by a generally similar quality of berry
products to each other and with the reference Weymouth variety, which makes it possible to recommend them for cultivation
in Belarus. In mid- and late-ripening varieties, the leading position in fruit quality was revealed in Bluegold and Rubel
varieties, characterized by 4.9 and 4.6 times its higher level compared to the zoned varieties Bluecrop and Elliott.
