Analysis of the Nature of Noise Propagation
in an Urban Environment |
Bulkin V.V., Pervushin V.V.
The spread of noise in urban areas is one of the significant factors of environmental pollution of the urban environment. The article
discusses the features of the nature of attenuation of acoustic signals during propagation in residential areas. The study was conducted
in one of the territories of the city of Murom, combining a residential area, educational institutions, and a machine-building enterprise.
A noise signal of the "white noise" type and a sound amplifi cation unit with a rated power of 500 watts were used. The noise source was
considered as a point source. Noise level measurements were carried out by a noise level meter of the I class ASSISTANT. For a more
detailed analysis of the results obtained, data visualization using the QGIS geoinformation system is provided. It is concluded that, in
general, the change in the attenuation of the acoustic signal is characteristic of calm zones and tends to decrease fairly uniformly. At
frequencies of 63 and 125 Hz, a deviation from linearity was revealed, which may be due to the influence of territorial factors or the
presence of an unaccounted source of short-term noise.
