Approaches to Numerical Simulations
of Tsunamis Caused by Landslide Processes |

Estimation of the stability of natural slopes is the actual problem not only for engineering and geological surveys, but also for
fundamental science. The article examines the theory of landslide modeling, describes the methods and approaches, and the main
types of numerical models. The results of modeling the landslide process are submitted using the NAMI DANCE_L software
package. The results of numerical calculations of underwater landslides located to the south-east of the Sakhalin coast are presented.
The future prospects for the development of this field of science are related to the further improvement of existing models, and to
the introduction of innovative technologies and the creation of integrated monitoring and risk management systems.
