The ground assumes final chemical load created by industrial activity of the man. Its physical and chemical properties reflect cumulative effect of long-term influence of pollution sources. Therefore, the ground it is possible to consider as the indicator of pollution of urban environment. Determination of exchange kations, nutritious elements, heavy metals and others pernicious pollutants in soils, evaluation of pollution rate of city soils are one of the basic methods for an evaluation of the city ecological condition. The soils of Archangelsk have adverse physical and mechanical properties. The large contents of lead, mobile copper and phosphorus is discovered in soils, but urban ground is impoverished by the cobalt and zinc mobile forms. Rather precise dependence of the chemical elements contents in soils with an antropogeneous loading level is observed everywhere.
