Modeling of the «internal weather» in the ecosystem of a stratified sea shelf |

The important role of internal waves in the formation of bottom and surface velocities as well as in the sea water mixing is shown on the example of wave dynamics in the coastal zone of Sakhalin island. The influence on the internal waves’ dynamics of barotropic tide components and the shape of the sea water density stratification profile as well as taking into account the Coriolis force is analyzed. The important role of baroclinic processes in the formation of the environment’s «weather» regime within the ecosystem of a stratified sea shelf is shown.
