Potapov The expansion problem of the GIS functions to increase its forecasting possibilities is discussed. The synthesis scheme for a new informational technology by the formula GIS + Model =GIMS is proposed. The spectrum of possibility advantages of a new technology is analyzed and the tasks that can be solved with it are shown.
