Possibilities of modern system of monitoring atmospheric pollution in the urbanized territories

Article evaluates the potential of modern urban environmental monitoring of atmospheric pollution on the example of the city of Moscow. In it, in particular, presents the main phases of the system and its structure, regulations, on which it is based, hardware-methodical maintenance of the existing network of automated monitoring stations and industrial air emissions. In detail the issues of using mobile environmental laboratories, given their classification and types of technical equipment, which necessarily includes stationary and portable gas analyzers, compact gas, ion and liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, a sampling system. Possibilities stationary analytical laboratories and basic physical and chemical methods of investigation of samples, analyzed the main shortcomings of the environmental monitoring, which in the first place are limited in the amount of both the monitoring stations and the observed absence of harmful substances and rapid response to pollution above objects environment.
