Influence of Emissions of Motor Transport on the Epiphytic Lichens Growing in Various Roadside Forest Phytocenosises

Influence of emissions of motor transport on lichens in various types of the roadside woods of the European part of Russia is studied. It is shown that existence and number of lichens can be diagnostic signs of extent of pollution. Fruticose lichens are especially sensitive to it. Various types of the woods are characterized by different degree of permeability for products of emissions of motor transport. As a result of the conducted researches it was established that on the studied roadside sites of the broad-leaved woods (lime and oak) lichens weren't found out that testifies that the woods of this type represent rather weak barrier to penetration of emissions of motor transport. Considerably better situation is found in birch forests in which lichens were noted on all trial grounds. In the pine forest growing in the Moscow region, lichens practically are absent though in the Novgorod region on trunks of a pine there is a significant amount of epiphytic lichens. Possibly, it is explained considerably by bigger intensity of transport movement on the site of the road in the Moscow region.
Keywords: influence of emissions of motor transport; a wood roadside ecosystemes; lichens; sensitivity to pollution.
