Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Nonadditive Effects of Risk Factors Action in Human Ecology Konstantinova E.D. Varaksin A.N. Some approaches to assess effects of combined action of several risk factors on living systems are discussed (Bliss independence and additivity equality are included). Nonadditivity effects of impact of ecological and socio-economic risk factors on disease’s prevalence are studied on the particular sample of Ekaterinburg preschool children. To determine the highest two-factor effect coupled with the maximal nonadditivity effect the automated exhaustive pair-wise search was used. The most health-negative combinations of two risk factors related to diseases of circulatory and musculoskeletal systems were found. It is shown that environmental pollution impact on children’s health (such as air pollution inside and outside the child’s home, and drinking water pollution) is aggravated by social and economic risk factors.
