Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Radiation Situation on the Territory of the Far-Eastern Federal District in the Initial Period of the Accident on the Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Fukushima-1 Fedoseev V.M. The work has done by the results of radiation monitoring on the territory of the Far Eastern federal district during the period from March to April 2011 with the direct participation of the authors. The response mechanism on the emergency situation is given. Basic types of technical equipment, which were used during the radiation monitoring mission, are listed. Basic results of the monitoring of the radioactive contamination of atmosphere and terrain are presented. On the basis of the received data radiation doses from the radioactive cloud and the underlying surface for the different population groups, included adult population, schoolchildren from 7 to 12 and younger preschoolers from 1 to 2, are assessed. Using the received data the forehand assessment about the absence of the threat of significant radiation exposure on the population of Russian Federation after the accident on the nuclear power plant (NPP) Fukushima-1 in Japan are confirmed.
