X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and «wet» chemistry
in geoenvironmental soil screening of quality of urbanized areas |

A comparison of the methods of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, and «wet» chemistry results of the elemental analysis of soil samples taken in the GO Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region. For the study was selected the top soil layer, which is a good indicator of pollution not only the soil, but also precipitation, surface water, and plants, and provides representative data on the amount of pollutants, which fall out of the atmosphere for a long time. Analysis of soil samples for heavy metals on a portable energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer Innov-XX-5000 the company «Olympus» showed reproducibility and was confirmed by the results of the traditional “wet” chemical analysis. The advantages and disadvantages of using a mobile X-ray fluorescence spectrometer Innov-XX-5000 in environmental soil screening. Conducted reconnaissance assessment of heavy metal contamination of the surface layer of the soil of the urbanized area, located in the zone of influence of large industrial enterprises GO Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region.
