Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Accounting for the value of carcinogenic risk in determining the acceptable level of air and drinking water pollution Suhonosenko D.S. The paper discusses the current environmental regulatory system and problems of the consideration of cancerogenic risk factors for population health within the system. It is shown that within the existing environmental regulation the parameters of risk for population health is not considered for cancerogenic substances in case of atmospheric air and water bodies pollution. The article covers the possibilities of the use of risk indicators to determine acceptable levels of air and water pollution. For a group of pollutants set nature of the relationship between the maximum permissible concentration and the amount of individual life cancer risk. It is shown the standard health indicators expressed in terms of cancer risk varies from negligible to absolutely unacceptable value. Nature of the relationship established between the value of a safe concentration of carcinogenic pollutants in ambient air, drinking water and the indicator of carcinogenic risk. Similar curves were obtained for a multi-component pollution. Obtain a relation that specifies acceptable levels of pollutants in air and water at the complex effects on human carcinogens. Concluded the need for adjusting the values of regulatory hygienic indicators taking into account the quantitative criteria for carcinogenic risk.
