Chitosan: perspictive material for separation
and concentration radionuclides from environmental
and industrial solutions |

Chitosan is high available natural polymer with wide raw material base/ Application of special methods of processing allows to obtain sorbents from chitosan with certain physical and chemical properties of the set geometry of particles. Also chitosan can be used as flocculation agent for colloids, pseudocolloids and suspensions sedimentation from natural and technological environments.
Radiochemical lab NRC «Kurchatov institute» have been carried out the researches directed on studying adsorption and flocculation properties of chitosans in relation to most ecologically significant radionuclides and to reception of composit sorbents on its basis with selective properties. The obtained results allowed us to develop technology of radionuclides allocation and concentration from natural and technogenic environments. Techniques of definition of general maintenance Pu and 137Cs in sea water which have taken place successful tests in forwarding conditions at radioecological monitoring Kara and Barents sea are developed.
