Algorithm for classification of phase states
of the ocean–atmosphere system basing on the wald sequential analysis |

Algorithm for the solution of problem related to earlier detection of phase state change in the ocean-atmosphere system is developed basing on the use of Wald sequential analysis method. This system is considered as a source of meteorological signal the detection of which is realized with the use of integral index of its phase state. Instability indicator for the ocean-atmosphere system is considered as such integral index. It is calculated with the use of meteorological and geophysical data delivered by the system of buoy stations TAO/PIRATA/TRITON/RAMA and satellite remote monitoring as well as by episodic data from vessel observations. Comparative analysis of effectiveness for the most known criteria of diagnostics of the ocean-atmosphere system state is realized in comparison with developed algorithm. Inverse task of radiometry is solved being based on the Duhamel’s Integral and approximate formulae are received to be used for calculation of probability for phase state change in the ocean-atmosphere system. The problem of earlier detection of this change is added up to the investigation of random walk process in instability indicator for phase space of the ocean-atmosphere system. Standards for instability indicator values are assessed to be identical for Saffir-Simpson scale. Sequential analysis method given possibility to assess the probabilities for intersections of these standards by instability indicator of the ocean-atmosphere system.
