Mathematical modeling life expectancy in Ryazan rock pigeon population |

The possibility of using mathematical modeling to calculate the duration of life of the most long-lived species in the urban populations of rock pigeon. Primary data were collected for 8 years in several model sites, by recording all meetings individually tagged fish and birds with color aberration. Schedule of reduction of the number with the passage of time has a form similar to the Laplace function. In calculating the average life expectancy of birds calculation results were identical to the empirical data. The average life expectancy of birds was 2.17 years. Based on these data we can predict that the maximum life span of individuals is 10…10.5 years. In order to establish this fact empirically would take 14…16 years of continuous research, while the application of this model to reduce this period at least three times. Based on the frequency of registrations of model species habitat on their sites developed a correction factor to the materials route censuses, taking into account the regular stay of individuals in shelters, where they are found in the counts by standard methods.
