Shows the principle of the separation of pollution of water soluble and suspended substances, depending on the size of the pores filtration units. In summary form, an overview of the main methods of sewage purification at treatment of relatively dominant components of wastewater, and containing high concentrations of proteins, fats and bio-organic compounds and heavy and radioactive metals; oil products; surfactants; various microorganisms. Considered are the peculiarities of the systems with nitrification and denitrification, the main ways of removal of phosphorus and its compounds. Analysis of the basic methods of the disinfection of water. Separately considered are the peculiarities of water supply systems in terms of their protection from the flush growths, electrochemical and corrosion damage and examples of methods that help to solve these problems. Carried out a brief analysis of the choice of pipelines of various materials used in water supply: cast-iron, steel, asbestos cement, plastic, concrete and reinforced concrete.
