Metrological assurance in measurements of body contact voltage and current |

The paper discusses problems associated with metrological assurance in measurements of body contact voltage and current. Error sources in measurements with grounding and without grounding are examined. Values of absolute and relative errors are estimated and presented with account of instrument ratings (a voltmeter and a milliamperemeter have been used in the laboratory research). Experimental characteristics which connect relative error with the measured body contact voltage and current are analyzed for all three tests. Results of estimation of additional error for body contact voltage and current depending on indoor-temperature changes are demonstrated. Calculation of cumulative instrument relative errors is based on results of processing of direct single measurement of body contact voltage and current. An effect of personal error on measurement results is shown and guidelines for error reduction are given. Interaction errors which arise because of finite resistances of a signal source and the measuring devices are studied. Analytical dependences between absolute and relative interaction errors and internal resistances of the measuring devices and the signal source at constant current are obtained. An expression defining error in interaction between the devices used for measurement of alternating voltages and currents is proposed. Estimated calculation and experimental results are given.
