This work is devoted to use of natural mineral resources of the Astrakhan region as oil sorbents, and also establishment of the corresponding physical and chemical basis, for the purpose of the solution of a number of the environmental problems connected with sewage treatment from hydrocarbons of oil and oil products. In the present research an attempt to estimate sorption qualities of clays of the Astrakhan region in relation to oil products. The obtained experimental data on studying of thermodynamics and kinetics of adsorption of organic toxicants formed a basis for development of a method for removing waste water of various products of oil processing. During research it was revealed that clays of the Astrakhan region are rather effective and can be used as oil sorbents in the ecological and technological purposes.
