Andreev The article deals with the model problems of sustainable development of the local and regional level. Two groups of study of the problem of sustainable development are considered. The fi rst group is based on the construction of mathematical models. The second area of work is connected with the study of order and chaos in natural systems, which in turn is closely linked to the concept of sustainable development. The article may be of interest to specialists in the fi eld of environmental management.
