Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back CALCULATION OF AIR POLLUTION WITH SNOW MONITORING L.R. Asfandiyarova, R.R. Daminev, A.L. Galiev, G.V. Yunusova The monitoring of environmental pollution are often used so-called natural tablets, so the interest is the study of the composition of the snow cover, as the storage of various chemical elements. This method is relatively cheap and informative indicator of pollution emissions from industrial enterprises, vehicles in winter. The aim of the study was to examine the degree of air pollution of the city with snow cover as an indicator. In the winter period from november to february it was investigated elemental composition of aerosol pollution of snow cover, 17 samples taken to determine the typical dynamics of the concentrations of chemical elements contained in the snow. To analyze the state of the snowpack Sterlitamak measured pH, suspended solids content of sulfates, nitrates, chlorides, and organic substances. Analysis of the spatial distribution of contaminants in the snow cover in the area of infl uence of a large industrial center showed the unevenness of pollutants due to the infl uence of anthropogenic sources. It was found that the monitoring of snow cover can be used to improve information on the spatial air pollution: a solution to this problem is very important in low-stationary observation posts in Sterlitamak.
