Yarmoshenko, A.P. Sergeev, A.S. Savastianova, A.Yu. Rakhmatova The assessment of pollution degree was conducted at the territory of Yekaterinburg (Russia). The specifi c surface ground facie of the recent anthropogenic sediments (sediment of local surface depressed zones of landscape) was used as the main object of the sampling. The concentration coeffi cient, enrichment factor and total pollution index for heavy metals were assessed for the sediment. Concentrations of heavy metals assessed with Cs-137 chronological approach and soil background levels were used as background for the current study. The pollution indexes assessed for the recent sediment are suitable for the pollution degree assessment for the city territories.
