Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back THE STUDY OF THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF THE LEACHATE OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE LANDFILLS S.S. Voronich, N.N. Roeva, N.N. Grebyonkin, D.A. Zaytsev, A.G. Khlopaev Polygons solid waste disposal are various sources of pollution of the environment objects. The main factor determining their negative effect is infi ltration within the entire area of the placement of solid waste squeezing the water released from the landfill body in the process of storing, packing and waste decomposition – leachate. The article discussed in detail the issues related to their microbiological and chemical composition, the latter of which is represented by organic and inorganic compounds, ferrous and nonferrous metals, ammonium ions, chloride and sulfate ions. Data were obtained from the analysis of the literature and our own surveys, depending on the stages of the life cycle of the landfi ll. A special place is occupied by the article the author studies the impact of leachate on groundwater and surface water by the example of landfi lls, located in the Moscow region.
