Varaksin The aim of this study was to evaluate the parameters of the heart rate variability (HRV) in workers of industrial enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region. We analyzed the impact of occupational factors on HRV parameters in 138 male subjects in two age groups (20...45 years and 46...65 years). We found an increase in the stress index, a change in the statistical measures of HRV, a decrease in the frequency domain measures with age, which characterizes the activity of the sympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system. For the workers, the value of the power in very low frequency range relative to the total power exceeds the norm. The statistical and frequency domain measures of HRV in the group of persons under 46 are different from those of the older age group. It was noted that in the group of persons older than 46 years, exposed to harmful occupational factors (noise level or electromagnetic fields), regulatory systems are in a state of tension and the central (managing) contour of heart rhythm management involved in regulatory process.
