Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back ECOLOGICAL CONDITION OF THE STREETS TERRITORIES OF MOSCOW ON BASE OF THE GIVEN PERENNIAL MONITORING D.A. Shapovalov, V.V. Gorin, S.S. Voronich, N.S. Voronich Modern social and economic problems of urbanized territories – large and small cities, industrial and cultural centers, in the administrative boundaries of which housing estates, industrial zones, motorways, specially protected natural areas, etc., attract special attention of the public and specialists in connection with the growing environmental problems associated primarily with a high level of air pollution and the second – with the degradation of other natural objects ‘s urban environment: soil, rivers and lakes, green spaces, which generally lead to a deterioration of conditions for the population. Annually in the world more than 200 million tons of carbon monoxide, up to 150 million tons of sulfur dioxide, over 50 million tons of nitrogen oxide, more than 50 million tons of various hydrocarbons and about 250 million tons of fi ne aerosol particles are emitted into the atmosphere. The main source of emissions of these substances in urbanized areas is motor transport. It is he who owns the «primacy» in the formation in the air basin of cities of suffi ciently stable concentrations of dust, soot, volatile organic compounds, etc. The presented article considers the ecological condition of streets in the city of Moscow on the basis of data of long-term monitoring of organic pollutants.
