Gorbunov, A.V. Loskutov The results of studies of the impact of a single storm on the coastal zone in the 104...109 km section of the federal highway Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk–Okha considers in the paper. The energy and structure of the infragravity waves responsible for the destruction of the shores and the formation of rhythmic relief forms are estimated from the data of a network of level recorders installed near the v. Vzmorye. It is shown that a stable system of infra-gravity waves with periods from 120 to 160 s, modeling coastal forms of relief, is being formed. Bathymetric surveys were carried out before and after the passage of a single cyclone. At the same time negative values of the difference bathymetry were registered in the observation area. Since there is no long-term deepening of the coastal zone, it follows that the restoration of the coastal slope is due to the destruction of shore material, which ultimately leads to its collapse in the sea and partial destruction of the asphalt surface of roadway.
