PECULIARITIES OF TOXIC ACTION OF ALUMINUM SALT AT DIFFERENT MICROALGAE CULTURE MEDIUM |

The toxic effect of aluminum salt AlCl3 on green microalga Scenedesmus quadricauda (Thurp.) Breb. depending on cultivation conditions was studied. The main indicators of the culture state were: change in cell numbers, ratio of living and dead cells, pH in the dynamics of population development. The growth and development of the test object in normal and toxic conditions on the Uspensky № 1 medium and natural lake water are investigated. The sensitivity of the culture to the toxicant was determined and its toxicity was evaluated when grown on different media. In natural water, low concentrations do not cause a toxic effect on culture, medium ones cause weak suppression and inhibition of cell division, and then growth stimulation, and high ones cause mass cell death and prolonged inhibition of living cell division, which can restore the population size over time. The composition of the growing medium of the culture affects the toxicity of aluminum: on Uspensky № 1 medium, the toxicity of aluminum is higher compared to the medium prepared with natural water.
