Biological testing of the Barents Sea bottom sediments was carried out for the yellow-green alga Phaeodactylum tricornu-tum, infusoria Stylonichia mytilus and nauplii of branchiopod crustacean Artemia salina. The results indicate a low pollu-tion level. Toxic bottom sediments were found mainly in the coastal areas.
